At Northwest Sailing Centers, our ASA 104 Bareboat Skipper course teaches you how to confidently sail and manage a 30’–45′ sloop-rigged, auxiliary-powered sailboat in coastal and inland waters.

Course Overview

Learn essential overnight cruising skills, including:

  • Sail trim in moderate to heavy conditions

  • Planning overnight voyages

  • Coastal navigation (tides, currents, plotting courses)

  • Docking and anchoring techniques

  • Boat systems: inboard engines, galley, head, heaters, and electrical

  • Emergency operations and basic weather interpretation

Cruising Skipper 103

Class Details

  • Prerequisite: ASA 103 Cruising Skipper certification required

  • Class Size: Maximum 3 students (Minimum 2 students to run)

  • Duration: 3 days, 2 nights onboard

  • Location: Elliot Bay Marina, Seattle

  • Schedule: Friday – Sunday
    (Includes 1 night anchored + 1 night docked)
