SAILING BASICS (ASA 101)

Able to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 27 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds (up to 15 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Auxiliary power operation is not required.

This course is designed to get you started in small keelboats and is the foundation for 103 and 104 classes.

PREREQUISITES
No experience is required. Students must be 18 years or older

CLASS SIZE
Maximum class size is 4 students. A minimum of 2 students is required to run the class.

Non-Member: Sat-Sun $595 or Mon-Tues $545

Member: Sat-Sun $495 or Mon-Tues $475

Tipping: Tipping your instructor is customary within the industry, typically ranging from 10% to 20% of the course fee, and is greatly appreciated!

AVAILABILITY: Two consecutive days- Saturday & Sunday or Monday & Tuesday
